I have an issue that appears to be between Powerbuilder apps and the new Terminal Server Easy Print. I did develop a solution for print to e-mail that utilizes PDFCreator to print the datawindows to PDF (never could get Sybase's PDF thing working and this. Thursday, September 25, 2008 12:55 PM.
I have an issue that appears to be between Powerbuilder apps and the new Terminal Server Easy Print. Environment: Terminal Server 2008 Standard w/o Hyper V - The XPS Printer is installed but hidden from the Everyone Group Powerbuilder App built in version 11.2 build 8542 - also appears in app built in Powerbuilder 9.0.3 build 8716 Printing to client printers that do not use Easy Print works. Printing to printers with Easy Print - I get the footer printed on the page if there is a footer on the report but that is all. This issues occurs on both of the following Client Computer Configurations: Windows XP Service Pack 3 with.NET Framework 3.5 Windows Vista Service Pack 1 This issues I believe is on the Terminal Server rendering side because when I print to the Client's XPS Printer the report comes up the same is if I had printed to a real printer via the easy print. Further this issue is specifically about datawindow printing, when I perform a print screen the everything prints out fine no matter what type of print system used. This doesn't directly address the problem but I can safely say that Powerbuilder has issues with many universal print driver type solutions. I have a client using citrix and they've tried Provision, tricerat and have yet to come up with a 100% solution with their powerbuilder application.
Every other application works fine but powerbuidler. Also make sure you are using the latest and greatest builds of powerbuilder as the more recent you get the more compatibility you have. Another thing we learned as well.
I´m new here and I hope someone can help me. I'm having the same problem with two Powerbuilder applications running on Windows 2008 Server x64, accessed by Terminal Services. When printing to the client printer using Easy Print driver, I only get the footer printed, and no errors are displayed.
I've read above about the fix Sybase has realeased for PB 11 and 10 Here's my problem. My applications are based on Powerbuilder 9 Does anyone know if there ir a fix for this version?? It would be a real headache if i'm forced to upgrade the PB version. Please help!!!
I have this issue of saving datawindow as a PDF file. I know I can use Powerbuilder SaveAs function to achieve this. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// adwpdf.Object.DataWindow.Export.PDF.Method = Distill! Adwpdf.Object.DataWindow.Printer = 'Sybase DataWindow PS' adwpdf.Object.DataWindow.Export.PDF.Distill.CustomPostScript= '1' llret = adwpdf.SaveAs( lsfilename, PDF!, FALSE) /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// But to use this technique, I need to install GhostScript. For licensing reason, Ghostscript is not installed with Powerbuilder. For the same reasons, I also can not use this technique in my solution. Is there any good 3 rd party solution that I can use to achieve this?
Solution with one time payment (Royalty Free) is preferred. Thank You Tags:. pdf. ghostscript.
