HOW TO DOWNLOAD LAME MP3 Encoder:. 1. Just click on Download LAME MP3 Encoder.

For the file that you want to download. When your browser asks you what to do with the downloaded file, select 'Save' (your browser's wording may vary) and pick an appropriate folder.

It is recommended to use a, if you're downloading large files. Always try the Mirrors before reporting broken links. We're using Mirror links to balance the traffic load for numerous download requests and, sometimes Mirror links can be faster than main download link.

Any regular visitors I have know that I prefer the encoder for creating MP3 files. This is just a quick note to let anyone who doesn't know that version 3.97 has finally left beta 3 stage and is at final version.

If you're like me and you use ( is also good, but less intuitive), then you need the LAME external encoder for best quality and control. I use the term 'external encoder' because it is with this.exe version (versus using the 'internal'.dll) that you can control the encode by using switches like -preset fast extreme or -preset fast standard. You can check out my posting for more info on ripping CDs to MP3.

Should I remove LAME v3.99.3 (for Windows) by Audacity? LAME is a library that allows some programs to encode MP3 files. The Audacity(r) QA Team suggests users download the ZIP version instead of the.EXE or.DMG (for Mac) versions. If you use the installers, and Audacity does not detect LAME, download the ZIP option, extract the files inside to a well known folder, then open Audacity, go to Library Preferences and configure it to search on.

As usual, the best place to grab the latest LAME compile is from. You can get the final 3.97 lame.exe build fixed for decoding through stdout (ICL9.1) by clicking. LAME 3.98 is already at alpha build 6, but it's probably best to hold off on using 3.98 until it at least enters beta stage.

Thanks for stopping! This blog exists as a means to share some fantastic music that has unfortunately gone out-of-print. My goal here is to turn folks on to music they might never have known about otherwise, but I'm not out to hurt anybody, certainly not the artists involved. If something I've posted becomes available again commercially, please let me know and I'll gladly take the share down. Remember, kids, whenever possible, it's important to pay for the music you enjoy. Doing so not only helps to support the artists that created it, but is also the right thing to do!
